:iagree: if someone is committing armed robbery, and they even begin to move that firearm towards your direction, you must assume they have the intent to use it.

...the proper time to assume that is when they walk in and begin to pull it...the nanosecond you see them drawing the gun, your wheels should be turning...what to do...what not to do...

Not to say I advocate shooting anyone before it's necessary as none of us can deal with either the resulting emotional or financial (or both) issues that will follow but to me if they come in with guns out, that gives me justification to shoot.

This may have been covered but is it more than an oral threat if someone threatens you with a "gun" that is in their coat pocket? May or may not be a real gun but anyone on the receiving end would think so.

My wife is a hair stylist and I had never thought of something like this happening before. Hair salons can take in huge amounts of money, my wife on a good day can make $400 plus in cash or check, and there are 12 other hair stylists that work there not to mention the massage therapist... Now I really need to get her interested in guns :totap:.

Although if this had happened at the salon my wife works at the bgs might have had 30 stab wounds from various stylists shears, my wife works with some pretty fun gals.

Glad nothing happened to your friend, and thanks for telling us about the encounter. I appreciate it since my wife is a hair stylist, and I can relate.

...a threat of a weapon given in commission of a crime is the same as you seeing the weapon...the crime is charged the same as if you saw the gun...and the result of faking it could be the same, too...it'd be a shame if someone died from having a stiff finger, but it's prolly happened before...prolly will again...
...you gotta make up your mind WHEN and IF you want to draw and/or fire...my post deals with cognizance and realizing how serious the situation really is...taking out the "oh, this isn' t really happening" and "surely he won't shoot" from the mix gives you an edge...when half-seconds count...

Instead of saying what you'd do if you were in such and such a situation, let them know that you're able to AVOID the situation because you know where the exits are.
Having known the OP and her family for years, I can state for the record that she is most definitely not against the 2nd Amendment.

Also, I think posts such as these are not 'crazy,' nor is it 'impossible to come out a winner.' I think it is a great mental exercise -- and I hope it never becomes a reality for me.
