I wonder what the accuracy would be with no rifling? A four inch barrel would barely be long enough for the case, and would leave the entire bullet hanging out the muzzle.

Yep. Moderate accuracy at three yards or less, preferably the less; 550 rounds per minute helps with potential self-defense, failure-to-neutralize inaccuracies. And very intimidating looking at that distance,
especially with the bullet stickin' right out at ya'.
The weight with the optional 4-inch barrel for concealed carry is a bit on the heavy side at 79 pounds, plus ammo. And it
is kinda tough to use at night with that barrel length: not much control on the muzzle flash.
But, hey; it
is a JMB design, so LT can put up with a few minor inconveniences. He doesn't try to carry this one at church, though...

I would think the "consumed in a ball of fire" effect would effectively neutralize most BGs at under 3 yards.

No, church carry is the Taurus 85 in a Galco tuckable. Little lighter than the 79 lbs.
