May be too late but(I haven't read the whole thread so):

Extra wide or wider than 'normal' hallways and doorways (think easily handicap accessible-if needed for future);
Extra wide and tall garage door(SUV/large truck friendly x2 or more);
Emergency generator(sized appropriately) low ROI, but convenient nevertheless-better than pool though;
Under floor heating for at least the master bath(we have one with tile and it's nice in the winter)

When on, we had hot water all the time, in both sides and when it was off, we had none until it ran up the pipes. Completely worthless. I figured it was the valve under the sink but replacing that changed nothing.

It's a great idea, if it worked as advertized.

I'll have to look at mine to tell you what model it is. But yes, it sounds like the valve at one of your outlets was bad allowing the hot water to flow back in to your cold lines all the time. For us, run the cold water for 10 seconds and the warm water is pushed out and the water is cold. Except in summer and its only chilled to 100.

I know my pump has a timer on it but I have mine set to run 24X7.

That's the system(s) I have. Bought two (for two water heaters) a couple of years ago. A few months back, one of the systems failed (pump seemed to be running, but to no effect). Discovered they have a 2year warranty and we were at about 1 year and 10 months. Took some effort but the sellers (Pex Universe) eventually replaced it, and we are back in service! Other than that, we are quite happy with them.
