Are there any women coming to join us? The reason I ask is that my wife will come if there are other women shooters. Otherwise I will probably come alone.

The only female that has ever joined us is C-dub's daughter, who keeps score and runs the traps for us. I don't know if she'll be there this time, but I hope so. She's a little sweetheart who does a good job of keeping us in line.

Your wife (and any other ladies) would certainly be welcome. We're a fairly civilized bunch of knuckle-draggers. ;-)

Not so! My wife has been to all of the meets at Alpine Shooting Range, which is where all of this originally started under AndyC's guidance, as have at least a couple of other spouses/significant others. Also, forum member Ropin' is female, and she attended the first two or three events at Alpine.

My wife might well have come to this one, but she has just completed physical therapy following surgery for a rotator cuff repair (on her strong side), and she's not quite ready to put a shotgun buttstock against that shoulder and pound on it.

Cool. I plan to leave the house at 8:00, and that will put me there by 8:20-8:30, depending on traffic.

TAM,
my wife is a physical therapist assistant - she would probably tell her not to shoot just yet too.

I'm actually 3 1/2 months out from open heart surgery, so it's a little scary for me to shoulder a shotgun too.
We'll have the 20g since 1) its 26" and 2) less recoil and 3) we got it for her in the spring and she hasn't had a chance to shoot it.

But the subject is "Another Elm Fork Skeet Shoot?". Since those are the only ones I have experience with, that is what I was talking about.

My daughter just suggested I invite my 17 year old granddaughter. She loves shooting rifles and my pistols and has shown interest in shotgun too. I'll talk to her when she gets home from school and see if she'd like to attend.

H-dub will be there to keep score for us again. At least, she plans on it as of this moment.

Cool! Let her know I have the iPad all charged up and ready for her. ;-)

My granddaughter isn't coming... she'd rather sleep.

iPad? Is it virtual Skeet? "rlol" I know it's to keep score, right? Hope someone posts some pics and scores. I'm betting C-dub gets 25.

C-dub built a score keeping spreadsheet a while back & emailed it to me. I put it on my iPad & his daughter seems to like keeping score on it.

I wish you were feeling better so you could join us.

Thanks Paw Paw. I was really looking forward to being up there. Good thing is we caught something that could have gotten more serious quickly. Maybe we can make it to the next one. I forgot about the Alpine shoots that started these to begin with. My daughter and S-I-L live within earshot of Alpine and I've been there a couple of times when I visit. I took her to Alpine to shoot a couple of .22 pistols back in April when I came up to Elm Fork last time. She's a dead-eye with a Ruger Super Single Six! I can't seem to get anything started down here like you guys have and after a couple-three attempts I've given up. Keep me posted on the next one! Good Shooting Everyone!

I have to bow out - again - unless someone can fix my shotgun.

Went to the range to make sure it ran ok, since we haven't put any rounds through it. The shells won't load into the chamber from the magazine tube. Either I don't have a clue of how this semi-auto works or its busted.

Just in case anyone has one, it is a Weatherby SA-08 20g It appears there is a spring missing for the carrier control button as it does not depress, it stays in.

I'll gladly share mine with you, but it's a 12 gauge O/U. I don't think it kicks hard, but then I'm not recovering from surgery. :???:

I don't know anything about Alpine, but I think it's cool that we have a semi-regular thing going here every 2-3-4 months with this skeet shoot.

Someone mentioned to me that Apple also has a few skeet, trap, and other shotgun sports score keeping apps. I've got a couple of them on my iPhone and may try the skeet one it out just on my score to see how it works and if I like it or not.

BTW, I don't know about that 25.

Bring your shells and I'll bring my wife's O/U 20 gauge for you to use. I'll have it with me in case you see this post in time to make it.
