The Asian guy had the right idea at the 50s mark. Some more of that and the squids might have decided the game wasn't fun anymore.

I heard it was that one bike took out the side mirror and the RR started honking and maybe tryed to follow/ get the plate of the rider. The brake check was to allow the rider to "get away" if you will. A very common tactic among these groups. They even do it to police units.
If you stop the action you can see at one point that the driver's side mirror is missing the glass. Of course it's hard to know at this point but quite possibly EEllis has it pegged as to what started this.
That is what is going around the Motorcycle boards right now.

Haven't y'all seen Anchor Man? I'm sure the RR driver threw a burrito out the window, striking a biker.

I don't know what started it but when the RR clearly ran over someone elses property he was egging them on. That's not something I would have done. I have ridden bikes all my life and I wouldn't have continued to chase that guy like that but either way if I was the range rover guy I wouldn't have been running people over just to get my point across. Really this is road rage at it's finest (if you could call it that).

Ron White said it best "I didn't know how many of them it was going to take to beat my butt, but I knew how many they were going to use! That's a handy piece of information to have."

It's one of those situations where you cut your loses and move on. A piece of mirrored glass is hardly worth rear ending people and running over motorcycles and perhaps people as well.

One Biker arrested. One Biker in a coma (supposedly) with a justice page on facebook. One Biker with a broken leg.

One Biker had a Guyana sticker on his bike for what ever that might suggest.

WRONG. The bikers are the only ones in the video that appear to be egging everyone on. This is not road rage, which implies guilt in all parties (as Charles had mentioned before in another thread). This is assault and battery on the RR who attempted to escape an attack on his vehicle.

Are you implying that the RR driver caused the rear-ending? From what I see, the biker intentionally caused the contract by deliberately slowing his bike directly in front of the RR.

You are just trying to stir the pot aren't you?

I doubt the RR guy ran them over to prove a point. He did it cause these idiots were blocking him in and approaching his SUV trying to bully and intimidate him. I know I would have been scared and if unarmed like I'm sure the RR guy was I would have run those punks over also. When you are in fear for you life and safety of your family you will take drastic measures to escape. If it was me I would have took out as many of those bikers as I could and when I got stuck in traffic watch out hitting reverse. When dealing with bikers trying to hurt you, speed is your friend. A 650lb crotch rocket is no match for a 5000lb SUV.

What do you think prompted the motorcyclist to pull over and stop in front of the SUV after he appeared to be mouthing at the suv driver as he went by?
I dunno, but I've been on a bike before driving the speed limit and I don't ride anymore because it is too dangerous. I've had people shout racial slurs at me, throw beer bottles at me, and tried to run me off the road before. I don't know what's with drivers who see a guy on a bike and think that they can bully the guy on the bike. In all instances, it was my slow driving that angered the other driver, but I was driving at the legal speed limit. Just because everyone else is speeding doesn't mean I have to do it too.

What does all of that and your previous comment have to do with this particular situation?
Absolutely nothing.

Chas.

The NYC PD reports that this gang of bikers have a history of taking over roadways in mass and intimidating people. They surround vehicles, then hit their brakes much like "swoop and squad" tactics used in major Texas cities to set up civil lawsuits. Apparently, these NY bikers aren't interested in a lawsuit, but want an excuse to damage vehicles and/or commit assaults. This isn't the first time this has happened.

Police investigation to this point indicated the assault victim was not at fault in an fashion and was not an instigator. He didn't run over anyone until he and his family were threatened and even the NYC PD is supporting the victim's position. Apparently, the victim didn't have the option to avoid anything, he was driving along and found himself surrounded.

That seems extravagantly stupid of the bikers. Multi ton vehicle vs. itty bitty bike = organ donor. Am I missing something?
Good to see the police are supporting the RR family.

yeh, they just said on CBS that the bikers were organized and planning stunts during the day....Chief Kelly also said they'd given out lots of tickets and confiscated over 50 bikes before that incident, so the bikers knew they were being watched, they just didn't care and were being extra aggressive.

Why would you think that was what he was doing? If he was he could of taken out many more riders and maybe not caught such a beating. Mabey, like his story, when there was a small accident he fled out of fear when a large number of riders surrounded his car and started hitting it and attempting to gain entry. That is fleeing not trying to get some point accross.

I really wish lawmakers would crack down on these types of bikers. I would be happy to see the following laws passed:

- Failure to display a license plate: forfeiture of bike and a $20,000 fine
- Running from cops: Forfeiture of bike, $50,000 fine, permanent loss of Texas drivers license
- Exceeding speed limit by more than 30mph: Forfeiture of bike and a $10,000 fine
- Performing wheelies on public street: $5,000 fine and a one-year suspension of license
- Stopping traffic on freeway: firing squad.
