Didn't mean to make it too personal. Just interjecting some logic instead of emotions.

I hear you. As the father of both a daughter and a son I can understand its an emotional issue but that logic is needed to as this sight is dedicated to legal CHL and its use.

Is the problem really a respect issue other than the daughter not respecting herself?
Well, I *have* pulled a gun on her when she tried to sneak out the house one night when she was in high school. One of the dogs was barking and I went outside to investigate. It was dark and all I could see was a shadow. I yelled at the person and told them to get on the ground or I would shoot. As she laid on the ground, she said "Daddy, it's me!"... Apparently that worked since I never caught her trying to sneak out again. To add insult to injury, the dog that ratted her out was *her* dog. :)
I think that her problem is that she has the sexual proclivities of a guy. :(

Shooting someone outside for no threat can lead to legal troubles. Just saying.

I can't imagine it either.
I have three daughters, one is a teenager. I tell you the truth, I would rather not live without them. A son as well. They are arrows in the hand of a warrior and happy is the man whose quiver us full.
You need to know how make that arrow straight. it will go in the right direction after you spend time shaping it.

First of all, IMO, I would have never shot the guy due to possible me being arrested and having to spend big bucks in my defense. If the guy and/or daughter were undressed, then I would have told the guy to leave his shoes, underwear, and shirt here (as physical evidence of the event) after having him leaving his wallet with ID for more evidence (and taking a camera phone picture if I had it with me) and sent him out the door. Then...daughter would be taken to hospital for a "rape kit" test. Would deal with the daughter later...
IF, however, the guy was obviously overage, then his "evidence" would have been turned over to the police and filed charges on behalf of daughter for statutory rape.
IF, however again, he guy was obviously attacking daughter and threatening violence, then that would be another matter...

I ran this story past my 20 year old daughter....her response?
"teenagers girls are idiots....why did the girl lie to her dad?......she was only thinking about herself"
when I told her "oh, fyi, your dad will shoot a guy he thinks is trying to attack you"
she said, "Yeh, unless you get there first. Don't worry Mom, there will be no guys in my room."

There it is....in a nutshell.
The girl caused it all, from beginning to er,....uh,...present. We'll have to wait to see the end.

It doesn't sound like that's a problem for her. Or the guys. Maybe just for you.

Absolutely, or it's going to get locked.

We don't need to be talking about sex stuff.

Well, maybe if you had a daughter, you would see it differently.
Besides, "my house, *my* rules".

A tragic case and a "Florida moment" for Houston. However, this could end a lot like the Joe Horn case in that not charging him would be most beneficial to others forced to defend themselves by raising the bar for prosecution.

Young man's family wants justice.
My wife said that the news on TV said that the father is confined to a wheel chair.
