Just buy what you need to get the gun together and go shoot it. Then figure out what you want to change.

Think of it as a box of Legos. In a couple of years you will have a box of spare AR pieces just like the rest of us. Then you will rummage through that box and realize "Hey, I almost have everything I need to build another AR!"

Have fun

I have probably built 6 ARs over the years, and only one was over $550 complete.
I have upgraded a few, and I have a whole tote of AR leftovers. But i never have had a spare castle nut, and I've had to order a couple. Never found one locally except at gun shows.

Rex B- I was to impatient to hunt one down locally or wait on the next gun show. I am definitely hoping to be less picky next time around

Joe Bobs Outfitters has the fastest shipping I have dealt with so far. So +1 to them

 I was rummaging around in my parts and discovered a completed lower and a bunch of other AR parts that I had completely neglected to use. There also seems to be a spare MGB in the closet. I remind myself of Great-Grandma who told me the reason she had a closet full of sugar was that she wanted to get it before the hoarders got 'em. "rlol"

1s1k52 - Great looking lower! My 23 year old daughter likes FDE so I bet yours will too.

For some reason that really tickles me
you think that is funny? At the time she said it she leaped out of what we thought was a coma. She had been very ill all morning and on the couch and my wife and i were discussing my new job. My daughter went from looking on the verge of death to been running around full speed since 11:30 am. What I wouldn't do for that kind of energy right now

Maybe she was just recharging?
