I just tuned into the video feed. Looks like the house is working on other bills now. So what's the updated status of HB910?

edit: I see the previous post, 'point of order sustained'; but don't know what that translates to.

What does this mean for HB910?

A rep brought up a point of order on 3 or 4 House rules. Point of order was sustained after about 20 minutes. HB910 did not get a 2nd reading.

Worst case, it just died.

Martinez' office is supposed to be calling me back with the point of order sustained. I'll post it here when they call back. I tried not to sound like a gun nut, which is hard. I always like to talk about guns.

So... is HB910 dead in the water? Does it get brought back up for a second reading tomorrow? What does it all mean?

I got this from Facebook.

UPDATE: A point of order on HB 910 (open carry bill) was just sustained on a technical violation concerning a witness affirmation form. HB 40 (_______ ban) would have met the same fate so it was recommitted to the committee. HB 910 will also go back to committee cure any defects on the witness affirmation forms. So, we will all have to wait and debate this again in a few days. - Matt Krause

The reason the 2 bills kicked back to their respective committees is because of a "computer glitch"??????

Oh! How convenient!!! :mad5 :mad5 :mad5

I'm confused. They are concerned about a witness affirmation form but not concerned about witnesses lying?

Again, I'm confused and may be convoluting the issue.

Well, at least HB 910 will be discussed in Homeland Security & Public Safety Committee TODAY!

Now then.....since the bill had to go back to committee to work out the "computer glitch", does that means it has to go through Calendars Committee AGAIN, and be put on the General State Calendar AGAIN??

Or does it get some sort of priority seating of the list of bills, and be heard PDQ? How is this kind of issue handled?

There was an announcement on the floor a few min's ago that said the Homeland Security committee was going back in after floor adjournment to discuss HB 910. If they call a "formal" meeting, I'm not sure that they will stream the video.
