I'm not so sure a lawsuit is the best path forward. Courts are notoriously unpredictable and often further confuse the issue than resolve it.
Never let a court decide a question that can be be handled via the legislative process where the citizens have input and can deliver a positive outcome.
Yeah, it takes a couple of years for the legislature to convene, but courts might take that long as well; so there's no real time savings.
When the people make the changes, at least we have only ourselves to thank or blame.
Just my 0.02 cents.

"We" are not the ones who are going to sue anyone. "They" are. "They" are the ones threatening to force the issue via lawsuits instead of just complying with the new laws that were handled via the legislative process where citizens have input and can deliver a positive outcome. If "they" can have any practical effect on campus carry with lawsuits then so much for the legislative process.

Off-topic to conceal carry but on-topic to my beloved University of Texas---Last night saw the movie My All American about Freddie Steinmark and his fight with bone cancer. Finally a positive, uplifting movie coming out of Hollywood. I recommend the movie to all the good folks here.

The new manifesto, authored by UT-Austin history professor Jorge Canizares-Esguerra and UT-El Paso political science professor Patrick Timmons, both leaders of Gun Free UT, was released in an email urging opponents of concealed carry to attend a Tuesday rally. In it, the authors argue that it’s misguided for opponents of concealed carry to focus on whether the new law will increase or decrease violent crime rates.
Instead, Canizares-Esguerra and Timmons explicitly frame the conflict as a racial one, with supporters of gun rights cast as white racial oppressors who are the heirs of slavery, Jim Crow, and other acts of “settler colonialism.”

He is an idiot, if anyone can be elgibile to have CHL, colors, place of birth, does not matter. Texas is a shall issue state. I am a proof for said shall issue application.

We had a rally out two Thuesdays ago. Race was not a mayor factor presented. We have another idiot Prof that pushes academic freedom and "feeling" safe. However, I don't believe they will hesitate to use the race card. Funny though, we are at least 80% Hispanic out here, so who is most likely to be a shooter.

Apperently, Timmons is an instructor at our local community college. He has not completed a Ph. D, and is not a prof at UTEP . The Prof at UTEP that is causing a stink is David Smith-Soto.

I saw a mouse today and I don't feel safe.
After I call the police, I'll apply for 'free' therapy.

I think the no guns at Ut is a plot. They are inviting gun free zones to encourage shootings
So that they can argue for more gun laws

You were spot on with your description.
Mayor Michael
Nutter said in a phone interview after a meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch and members of the U.S. Conference of Mayors in Washington that citizens want to feel safe, no matter where they live.
It doesn’t take much to amuse me.
