I carry 124 +P PDX1, however, I'm sure either grain will suit you well.

The less simple version is the FBI shooting test has been in effect for so long now that all the major manufacturer's have had plenty of time to engineer bullet design and powder loading to basically do the same thing, regardless of bullet weight or caliber. The testing by Lucky Gunner I put up a link to earlier seems to support this. The 9mm loadings are most consistent in this regard, they almost all group right around the 12" to 18" penetration depth and they as a caliber they expand as designed more than the other calibers. The .40 and .45 tests have several that penetrate to the limits of the test because of failed expansion. .380 is skewed to under-penetration, but there are several loadings that have respectable penetration results and even some good expansion.Excaliber wrote:The simple version is that you can't go far wrong with any current major manufacturer's hollow points as long as you do your job on shot placement.
