Finally got my reply from Ms. Leach this morning. She confirmed that they need nothing more from me, but also said that my app is just processing, which tells me that they probably stopped doing anything as soon as they noticed the missing signature. So I'm stuck here in the waiting room for a while, it looks like.

She didn't even try to answer my question as to how much time my mistake would add to the process.
Venus, welcome to the forum and the waiting room. Yes, it does seem that the ladies get processed quicker than the men, but as GrannyGlock pointed out, there are exceptions to that rule.

update!!!
I called DPS today and left a message. A few hours later, a technician called me back and said my license was issued today and I will have it in 5-7 business days. Today is day #95, and I will probably break the century mark before the license is in my hand
I will let yall know when it is in my hands!!!

Ever been arrested or anything? If so, it can take an additional few months. If not, I would seriously call and complain. They had an excuse for mine....tell them how long you have been waiting.

I turned in my application on 27 Feb 2006, they received it March 6th and I received my license yesterday 22 May 2006. They are swamped with applications.

Nothing new to report, unfortunately. 71 days since app first received in Austin, and 21 days since they got the signed TR-100 back. Looks like I've got about 39 days or so to go.
What exactly would be considered "timely issued" for a situation like this. They obviously could have done everything but issue the license without the signatre on the TR-100. It had the instructor's signature and all the pertinent information on it correctly. I understand bad fingerprints delaying things, because, as I understand it, the FBI won't begin a background check without a good set of prints, but they could literally have had my CHL ready waiting on the return of my TR-100 with no additional waiting time. At this time, and considering the lack of any reply by Waldene Leach as to how much time my mistake would add to the process, I am assuming that, as soon as the folks at the DPS found my signature missing, they stopped doing anything with my app. Once they got the TR-100 back, my app went right to the back of the queue. Start the 60 day "minimum" processing time that the DPS has quoted some here all over again.

Day 63 today on a renewel since my paperwork was accepted.
If you were born in another country you have to prove citizenship even on renewals. I was born in Scotland and got a letter from DPS stating that they needed more documentation. Drat it I better remember to send them a copy of my passport with my packet next time to avoid delays.

It's been 90 days for a guy at work. He just got his prints back (rejected). Then he goes to a cop shop to have them done electronically. They mess up one thumb print and smug (badly) his computer spelled name on the fingerprint card. He's going back on Saturday to have his fingerprints taken again.... Wish this guy luck, it could be another 90 days.

Major ouch!
