70 days and not even a stinkin PIN!!! two and a half weeks ago they said they mailed a letter last week so that is like three weeks ago. what the heck is the deal man???

As of today 4/14 website changed from "Processing Application" to "Application Completed" now just have to wait for the mail man!

Congratulations nedmore! I see a Walmart visit in your very near future.

I just called and talked to a very nice guy. He said that they just completed my application and that it just needs to be issued. He said I should have it in hand within "a week, week-and-a-half"!

I see the light at the end of the tunnel!! I just hope its not another train!

I have been thinking about that wally walk, to be honest I can't stand that place! I might start a new rite of passage called the "Home Depot Hike"! Congrats Petrucci.

DH finally got his in the mail yesterday.

spoke to the famous simone today.... asked her if they had received my packet (since i stupidly did not send it certified). She said it takes 4 to 6 WEEKS before they even get the packet open and typed into the system and she would not know until then. At least they answered the phone this time, I have spent the last 3 business days calling various times of the day just to sit on hold until the answering machine takes over.

Packet sent in: 3/27/08
Pin received: 4/09/08
60 day: 5/27/08 Processing Application

6/10/2008 : Application Completed - license issued or certificate active

76 days

3/1/08 class taken
3/3/08 application mailed
4/1 = nothing heard, no pin, no nothing
4/15 = nothing heard, no pin, nothing

waiting for a pin?? 43 days for a pin so far?? Come On?

I figured out what I did wrong:

1. did NOT PRE-register on computer, just filled out app at course and mailed it, obviously a lot of the delay is THEM entering data and typing and stuff.
2. mailed it in normal mail, should have gotten receipt of delivery requested to know if it got there.
3. used a cashier check, should have used a personal check to see if it has been cashed, and when, etc..
4. used my leftover money not spent on course and app for a carry gun and holster purchase, should have used that money and taken a course in waiting humor and bureaucratic patience prior to taking the CHL!

just saw someone at eighty days and no pin, guess I'm half way to them acknowledging receipt of my app package.

give them a call and ask... simone told me 4 to 6 weeks, 43 days is 6 weeks +1d they have no excuse

Now if the 60 day wait as required for them rolls around (Im guessing it starts when i recieve my PIN) is there anything I can do to spur the DPS into action, or is it like trying to capture the wind in a jar, and I'm out of luck?

Well, I got my PIN on 4/12/2008. 17 Days after they recieved it.

Now, the status is the infamouss "Processing Application".

*Taps fingers* Patience is a virtue....supposedly.

Bamboo, you are lucky that only had to wait 17 days to get moved to "processing application" I waited like 50 days or more!
