I am honestly shocked that someone in TX can loose a CHL for saying a cuss word. :roll:

When I was in the academy this was brought up. We were specifically told that we couldn't write up a disorderly conduct or disturbing the peace for someone swearing at us unless a third party civilian was close enough to hear. We were flat out told someone could swear at us up and down and we could do nothing about it unless there was someone else within earshot. It was just something we were expected to endure as police officers (and I endured plenty of it).

Of course, this was in Louisiana and not Texas, so the law is probably different than here where police apparently (according to srothstein) can write disorderly conduct tickets as the complainant.
