[quote="Tote 9. Where can I get some pepper spray ?[/quote]

I get mine from Comp-Tac. They have the Fox in several sizes & if you get the 2oz size they also have the belt holder for it. It is what I carry.

I'm not sure what I would do. It would depend much on his size and how serious he was. If I thought the situation was going to turn in to something I couldn't handle I might have said something like---"At the moment me and my 9mm just want to drive away peacefully". If that didn't work I don't know. I haven't been faced with that situation since
I''ve gotten my chl.
Dont worry about how big he is or anything like that just drive away.

If you get out of the car and he pulls a knife so you pull a gun and shoot him you may be thinking "good shoot" but the lawyers will always come back to "why did you get out of the car" and your legal situation would be up in the air at that point.

Dont let your ego get in the way, it can only cause you problems. Let someone call you names and just keep walking, it isnt worth it. Dont worry about what he says about your mother he probably doesnt know her anyway. They are just words and if you take action on his words you run a good risk of being charged if things go poorly.

If you want to fight over words or to defend your pride then dont carry a gun because you open up a whole new world of liability.

If I seem to have overreacted to your post Im sorry but thats the way it came across to me. "Macho" gun fights are what the antis fear most from an armed society, lets not bring their fears to reality.
No offence taken, and your absolutely right, to avoid any more problembs the thing to do is just drive away. I guess my first thoughts were something like this ---- I have a chl , I have a gun and you better leave me alone. Dumb.

If pepper spray doesn't work I'll just run.

None of us knows everything and we all need a little ego check once in a while (me more than most). Its great that we have a place to come and learn from each other. =)

TXinvestigator had a properly functioning vehicle; therefore, he had means of retreat.
Amen

w/o the kid in the car, the least he would have gotten was a middle finger.
Did you know you can be charged with disorderly conduct for this? It also tends to escalate situations. I usually just smile and wave.

This was a very good thread. The "what would you do" scenarios are great for helping me to work out my actual plans in case it did happen to me by providing a mental handbook to refer to.

Thanks everyone.

txinvestigator wrote:This happened to me last school year as I was driving my daughter to school.

I was leaving the neighborhood and the street I was on dead-ended onto a two-lane roadway. I stopped at the stop sign and noticed a work truck driving towards me from the right. The left turn signal was on, indicated that it would be turning on the street I was on.

I began my right turn as the truck began his left turn. He cut the corner, crossing into my path. It was obvious that if I did not stop I would hit him, so I had to brake hard. When I did I spilled my coffee on my legs.

So I sat there with my car not moving while I reached for a towel and said, "ouch that coffee is hot". As I cleaned up I noticed a vehicle next to me. It was the same truck. He had driven past, then backed up to me.

He had his window down and was looking right at me. I rolled mine down, and he said, "do you have a *expletive* problem?" I replied that I spilled my coffee, and he placed his truck in park and got out.

He said something about, "what do I wanna do about it?"

There it is, what do you do?

I'll tell ya what I did later.
After making sure my widdow wasn't down or my door unlocked (don't want him climbing in the truck as I clean up), I'd get the hot coffee off of me and then drive away.
