WOW, this is getting around. Saw it on the news tonight and just got a forwarded chain email about it. What's the big deal?

Where does it say this?wgoforth wrote:Don't know that it is bigotted to say/admit what the Quran says: "Kill Christians and Jews by Allah's leave." This post should be repeated. Basically it summarizes my position up beautifully. Thanks for your service.snatchel wrote:I guess I fit into the minority here, I think that this ad was pretty rascist and discriminating. Don't get me wront-the guy is entitled to his opinion, but I think that this is absolutely a step back for society.
I admit, I chuckled... the same way I chuckle at some of those uncolorful jokes, etc. Fact of the matter is, if your racist against Muslims/Arabs/Etc, your in the same boat that America was arguing against when MLK was around and black folks were the oppressed.
I fought the muslims/Arabs. Maybe it's true that SOME extreme factions are extremely anti-christian or anti-west, but that doesn't give us as Americans the RIGHT TO HATE. Think about it in this context: Some of you have mentioned that you dont like these muslims or arabs beause they are rascist (want to kill us, ect). Tell me, what sets you apart from them? Plese dont tell me that you are on Gods side, and that seperates the two of you. In a perfect christian world that may fly, but you are living in America, and here in America we have moved past stereotypes, racism, and hatred. You want to know why some of these extreme factions even exist? Education over there is a joke! Most of these extremist can't even read, they literally memorize the Koran because they can not read it. It doesn't take a genius to figure out how easy it is to control, corrupt, and brainwash a mass of uneducated, poor people.
I mentioned above that I have fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have seen the evil that comes from some of this. But I think it is rediculous to make a blanket statement that ALL MUSLIMS & ARABS are evil. I'm here to tell you I happily and willingly disposed of as many of the evil, hateful, agressive ones that I came across. But I can't say that without balancing it with the fact that some of the nicest, most hositable people I have met and worked with were Muslim as well as of Arab descent.
Bottom line-Stop the racism. It's long overdue that you let go of that part of our past. Embrace the fact that ALL MEN WERE CREATED EQUAL.
Do you do that with Christians as well? What kind of proof do you ask of them?longtooth wrote:No hate here. None at all. Just cant tell the difference in terrorist wannabees & realFlag wavin Patriots. Burden of proof is on them. Give evidence, not lip service & I will train them.
Where is the wide spread condemnation of Westboro? Or the Lords Resistance Army? OR the IRA? I don't see it.wgoforth wrote:Yessir, and I make that point in my lectures. ...our Bible, however, does not teach to lie and deceive those around us, nor does it teach that life is valueless if not in our faith, nor does it tell us to kill those we can't convert, or at the very least subjugate them and make them pay to live...their book of faith says exactly that...and I believe that just as Christians will when under pressure and going through rough times come back to their true core beliefs and begin to live them, so will the Islamics at some point in the future...and history will be repeated...to our detriment...and with that, I'm done...

Go to some of their protests against Fallen Soldiers. Condemnation is huge, evident, Patrioticthere.Toorop wrote:Where is the wide spread condemnation of Westboro? Or the Lords Resistance Army? I would suggest looking to see what many Imams and Sheiks are saying in regards to terrorism. They are more vocal about it. Have you researched it?
Remember that if you are reading an English Quran, that they do not accept English Qurans as authoritative, only ones in Arabic.Toorop wrote:Where does it say this?wgoforth wrote:Don't know that it is bigotted to say/admit what the Quran says: "Kill Christians and Jews by Allah's leave." I have a copy of the Quaran and I have not seen it. Many of my friends are Muslims and they are wonderful people. Keep in mind that we are at war with Muslim Extremists as well as Christian Extremists. Should businesses not serve Christians?
