Good one! I fear most of the members have absolutely no clue as to the traditional or familial background of your "gift".

SALUT!

Tried out my Mosin Nagant last Saturday. I have to say, for a rifle made in 1936, this thing was dang accurate at 100 yards. The elevation is right on, but the windage is a bit off to the right. I am going to shoot it some more before I monkey around with that front sight. It also has the most satisfying "BOOOOOM!"! For a rifle that cost 109 bucks, plus a 25 dollar FFL fee, this is a heck of a bargain. Add in a couple of spam cans of 7.62x54R (880 rds) for about 160 bucks...and you have a lot of fun on your hands! The recoil is not all that much; it was less than that of my BIL's 12 gauge.

i picked up a 91/30 not too long ago, great gun to shoot and i was surprised at how accurate it is. either the Russians made mine right, or someone already messed with the sights, because it's dead-on at 100 yards. and first time i shot it, my dad said it sounded like a small cannon. paid around $100 for it, plus 100 rounds of 7.62x54R for around $20.
