Yes, us too. And we will be picking up a couple hard cases and another range bag from them in the next couple of days.

Sounds to me like it was just an evil plot to get you to spend even MORE money! :evil2: :biggrinjester:

Glad it all worked out and the manager was a straight shooter on the error and made sure it was corrected. We use Cabela's for CHL classes and I have never seen them be anything but above board, so would have been surprised if they didn't' do what they needed to provide good customer service. :thumbs2:

Sorry, got in late on this one but it was alread answered correctly, that was not a straw purchase. You would be surprised at how many FFL's are clueless to ATF regs. I have sat in on two ATF online training classes (remember, I am a part time FFL) and I was shocked at the plain stupid, basic questions being asked. I cannot believe someone selling firearms was asking the questions that were coming up. Saying that, nothing a gun shop employee states surprises me anymore.

Congratulations on the turn of fate. It's good to know that a comparative "big box" store can be that responsive to its customers. In the final analysis, I'm not surprised. Cabelas has stood strong in the face of the current pressures against our right to keep and bear arms. Even so, this is an encouraging outcome, and it certainly doesn't hurt my desire any to buy from them in the future. I've purchased two guns from them over the years.

Looks like they got this sorted out.

I am curious about this though. Since Texas is a community property state, How can any purchase not be for both spouses?
Seems like the spouse not filling out the 4473 is always legally part of the transaction since he or she will instantly become half owner.

There was some bad confusion at the Cabela's Sporting Goods store this morning.

I've been very upset about the recent events regarding guns. I was in a hurry to get some things and had waited in a long line. The clerk stopped me in the middle of when I was paying for my stuff and said, 'Strip down facing me!' And just when I was making a mental note to complain to the NRA about the gun control freaks running amok, she repeated 'I said, strip down facing me!'

I quickly did exactly as she demanded.

When the hysterical shrieking and wild laughing finally subsided, I discovered that she was referring to my credit card.

I have been asked to shop elsewhere in the future.

They need to make instructions to us old fogies a little clearer.

I've never been to or spent money at a Cabela's, but after reading this and that report of them leaving that show up North because they couldn't advertise or display "black rifles" (or something like that), I think I'll make a point to give them some business in the future. They seem like good Pro-2A folks.
