Becky,

Just returned to this thread - we're located in the Galveston/Houston area and my oldest Grand Daughter gets all the work available.

It's too bad you're not in the area because, I have more than enough work for her and to keep someone else busy too. That someone else used to be her younger sister. She tried her hand at working and found it ah, not to her liking...and I'm not a micro-manager either. I point out what needs doing and stay away unless I'm asked a question about how to do something...

Younger sister's reluctance to work seemed odd also, cuz I'd pay her the hourly assigned amount we agreed upon and then (because I'm Grandpa) I'd add in a handsome amount extra just because...but apparently even that wasn't enough. She doesn't like to get dirty I guess.

Luckily, along with being unafraid to tackle hard work, my oldest loves mowing with my new big zero turn mower. This is the last chore of the day for her. (this is fortunate for me as mowing has lost some of it's glamor...)

And by the way, without sounding to overly Grandpaw-ish, they're both model good looking girly girls - but of the two, just one of them isn't afraid to work at gritty, unpleasant work.
