In fact, I tried to order the gun through my preferred gun dealer, and due to that very same confusion, he thought I was seeking the old .327 caliber, not a model 327. As a result he told me he couldn't get one. I ended up going through another local dealer. When I went to pick up another gun from my preferred dealer and we got to talking, the confusion was revealed. It cost him a sale and probably cost me some money as I'm pretty sure his price would have been lower than what I paid.
