I have no idea what the church we attend will do. I don't plan to OC if allowed, and if a 30.07 appears, it won't affect me either practically or philosophically. If a 30.06 appears, I'll have tho look for another church.

Maybe I'm wrong but thought the 3006 sign had to be posted prominently on the entrances to the building, not on T-post signs on driveways into the parking lot (and partially obscured by hedges).

30.06 says property

(B) a sign posted on the property that:
(i) includes the language described by Paragraph (A) in both English and Spanish;
(ii) appears in contrasting colors with block letters at least one inch in height; and
(iii) is displayed in a conspicuous manner clearly visible to the public.

The operative word is conspicuous. I maintain that signs in the driveway are not conspicuous. We attended 4 or 5 times and never saw the signs. Only specifically looked for them when I saw they were posted on Texas3006.

That wasn't my point though. It doesn't matter if the signs were correct. People on this forum get their panties in a bunch because HEB or Whataburger want to dictate the manner of carry in their stores. This church does not want any carry in their church. Perhaps they should look at the unarmed church in South Carolina.

While I agree they have to be conspicuously posted, they are not required to be on the buildings themselves, which is what I thought your original point was. In addition, churches fall under PC 46.035, and states:

(g) An offense under this section is a Class A misdemeanor, unless the offense is committed under Subsection (b)(1) or (b)(3), in which event the offense is a felony of the third degree.

If they are hidden behind shrubs, it sounds like one could argue they didn't receive effective notice, unless of course one actually saw the sign.

Why not just find a church that you can be comfortable with?

Not mine. Not posted 30.06 either.

I never ever considered OCing to church. I certainly hope no one does.

I CC to church but I leave my cell phone in the vehicle.

Just a thought .

Why would you OC in church ? I have attended church as long as I can remember and never seen a gun there . I carry concealed and have no problems . Why the impulse to sport a weapon in the house of GOD . You will have to explain that to me as to the advantage of such behavior ? I see no point to it but only problems . WHY CAN"T YOU CARRY CONCEALED ? Give realistic reasons .

It's ok to obey the law and CC at church but it's not ok to obey the law and OC at church.

This is your problem, not ours.

Perhaps so , be sure to wear a double western rig with a visible BUG come the first . Are you there to worship GOD or just flash a cool sidearm , explain WHY YOU THINK God wants you to enter his house armed ?
