Well...today is 50 days total that DPS has had my paperwork/application. Now, this is not counting business days.
I'll send off an email today and see if I get a response back.

Just called and spoke to a nice lady.
She stated that they received it on January 4th and that they were still checking my background.
I asked what all that involved and she said that they check criminal history, along with making sure I don't owe state back taxes, fines, etc. Said that they have 60 days and they still had another week and a half to complete.
So basically....my wait continues....... :(

Was just informed by DPS that they have 3 months to check background and mine was received officially on 12/22/10.
I guess I have another month.
Oh well, no need to get upset about it.
I have background checks with the company I work for every two years and I'm still employed

It took unusually long for me. I checked last night and the fingerprints and background were still pending. I counted the days from when they received it and yesterday and determined they had my packet for 60 days exactly.
Checked it this morning and it finally says manufacture pending. I'm active duty and have been resided in 2 other states....not to mention the trouble I was in when I was a kid (over 20 years ago). Just as in when I applied for a clearance, I disclosed everything including police records with my packet.
Hopefully, I won't have to wait as long as other to finally get it in my hands.
