I'm disgusted, and will now go toss and turn for four hours before being able to get to sleep for an early morning appointment.
We have voted ourselves yet another step closer to becoming irrecoverably mired in incomprehensible debt, to handing over our states' rights to a federal government that grows ever larger at the expense of our children and our children's children...and make no mistake, in this final Obama term I think we'll see dangerous appointments to SCOTUS of probably two justices, and we'll see the real Barrack Obama's opinion on individual rights and gun control.
Imagine the enormous amount of money spent on these campaigns. And come dawn tomorrow, nothing has changed. The administration remains the same. The House remains a Republican majority. And the Senate remains in the hands of the Democrats.
But perhaps, just perhaps, public opinion--and perhaps even opinion on the hill--will be even more fractured than it was. The conservatives who were truly concerned and voted in this election--and who did not dilute the vote by wasting it on an independent candidate--will be set to percolate even more than they were with the result of 2008. Look for more grass-roots pressure at the local and state levels for smaller, more responsible, more accountable government. Look for the stock market to react only slightly tomorrow because the status quo has been maintained. Look for employment growth to flatten or shrink the next two months. Look for stocks to decline in Q1 and Q2 2013 when the realization sets in that an anti-business, socialist administration is beginning to set its final agenda in place.
This is a disappointing day for America.

Unfortunately I fully agree with you. The next 4 years will be bad but the residual damage will be worse for years.

Skiprr, it's more than a disappointing day. It's a watershed day. A pivotal day. This is the day that so-called "Americans" (I will never again call them the "loyal opposition," for they are not loyal, they are treasonous) voted to become the United States of Greece. We are one more step along the road to the Balkanization of the nation.
Long live the Republic of Texas.

Perhaps the most critical part of this dog and pony show.

Is anybody really surprised? I am not! When people told me a year ago Obama would never win I thought how out of touch they were. People at work said no way and laughed at me like I was a nut. Of course I didn’t want him to win but I think many don’t understand how many like him in other parts of the country.
Here is the bottom line. The economy is still really bad and Obama still won. The country has pulled hard left since 08 and has a very strong base. The Republican Party is fractured and is really 2 or 3 parties in one and Romney was not a good choice. The Republican Party needs to come to terms with what it is or we will have the same problem in 2016. Broken!
Sorry but if Obama couldn’t be beat with this current economy that is a signal to the moderates and conservatives that they have a problem!

It is done. The people have voted for bread and circuses (Obama phones and welfare). They (apparently) do not realize that the barbarian hordes are part of that deal too. I think the tipping point for our nation as a whole was tonight. Look to your locals and your own families now. Prepare for hard times that will come now. Bread, bullets, butter people.

Followed closely by the gutting of our Military and the killing fields of our Seniors at a quicker pace.

I've tried several times to respond. I'm reminded of the time I watched planes fly into buildings in NY and DC and a field in PA. Even then I had no doubt that the country would survive. For the first time in my life, I now doubt that it will.

America as an idea is kinda over. The Left and corruption are so entrenched now that we can't possibly remove them without the price of blood. There will never be another President that is not a Democrat. But that is okay. The people will go on, that's what we do.

I find myself wondering what I will have to do to survive the coming financial collapse.
I lay part of the blame on the Republican Party who seems intent on fielding people who simply can not connect with the voters.
