I'm a dog man. I wouldn't want ANYBODY to take my wirehair doxy. I'll probably take a ration for this, but you should decide if this is really the hill you want to die on. My wife and I fought an ex-daughter-Inlaw for access to our grandchildren. It about aggravated me into a stroke, and was FAR from cheap. In the end, we kinda won, but she reneged anyway. I don't think I'd do that again. (Especially considering how the grand kids turned out. She messed them up big time.)

My point is that you are talking about a dog. It is not worth destroying your financial future for. Consider carefully if the cost is warranted. You probably could buy a whole litter of puppies for what that dog is about to cost you.

If you do decide to continue the fight, I wish you all the luck in the world.

That, and this might make a great 'human interest' story for the local media....then again, maybe not, eh?

he likely wouldn't mean so much to me except in the past 10 years I have seen every friend I have ever had die of everything from car accident to suicide to murder to overdose to the swine flu. She knows this and knows that my bond with him is one I don't have with human beings really anymore and she wants him out of hate. Sure I can buy another dog.... but I cannot buy another of him. I am going to try everything I can to get him back.

I'd do the same thing. My dogs are family members to me. I spent $11,000 over one year on multiple surgeries for one of my dogs so I know exactly where you're coming from. My wife says I make out with the dogs more than I do with her.

Good luck to you. It kills me how people can get away with things like this and the courts let them.

You should also talk to the DA about bringing perjury charges against the ex and her mother, as I'm sure they lied under oath.

Local news was to fight local business or local government. Not evil ex s..

Also the dog is already 10 its not gonna be around for another 10. No one is going to take being dumped after 10 years well

Good luck. She is getting what she wants, and it isn't the dog.

When I told the judge I wanted to appeal and asked him what I could do to get it going he told me to go get a lawyer. I asked him if there was anything I needed to fill out stating I was appealing or anything I could do to go ahead and get rolling and he said no that I had to get an attorney. This lawyer I know is out of town till who knows when so I went by this "lone star legal aid" place here in town. I am poor and on disability and thought they might be more affordable than other lawyers. so I go in there fill out some papers and they say they will call me by 5 and tell me if they can help. 4:50PM I decide to call them since I had not heard anything. She says "Oh I was just writing you a letter to tell you that although you qualify financially for help, they did not have the staff to help me."

Then it got really odd. The woman from the legal aid place said she called the judges office and they told her that they had some forms (at the judges office) that I could fill out to get my appeal started. So did the judge lie to me when he said I had to have a lawyer to file an appeal? Or are they making an exception or something? I only have 10 days to get the appeal filed and now that it is the weekend I cannot do anything until Monday. I hope he is safe there. I just want him back home again.

I miss the little guy so bad, and am so worried about his safety I feel sick. I don't know what to do. I feel that due to her family ties and connections from her job I cannot get a fair chance to get my little guy back. My heart is broken. I feel like I can't win. Anyone know what I will need from the court to file the appeal? How much money will I be looking at? Do I have to pay cash to file the papers for the appeal or can I use credit card? Anyone know? I still can't believe the court helped her steal my dog like this. I used to love our legal system, I guess it isn't what I thought it isn't what I thought.

Our legal system flat out sucks bro. Sorry for your loss and what you need to do now is really think about what you want to do. It can get real expensive real quick and with you have limited funds it might do you worse than a heartache over your dog. The worst part is you could end up spending thousands and thousands of dollars and still lose your dog.

I wonder if you can take this to small claims court? Have you looked into that?

If a judge aready issued a court order and told JeepGuy79 to hire a lawyer, it is too late for small claims courts.

If he is serious about his posts, he needs to hire a lawyer.

I don't think that applies to normal human beans. According to my lawyer, only movie stars, celebrities and weathly weirdos can get visitation rights for their pets.
