The one amendment that should have passed was the Cruz, Grassley, Graham Amendment calling for improving NICS by insuring that States report those judged mentally ill, forcing the Federal Government to prosecute illegal attempts to purchase firearms by felons including straw purchases, and strong measures to improve school safety. It was the only gun measure of the whole debate aimed at solving the problem of illegal guns and school safety. The fact that it failed was proof positive, the democrats only goal is our guns, and they are not interested in getting illegal guns off the street or improving school safety.

P.S. to my last post. I am Texas proud of our Senators for the leadership roles they took during the floor debate. It was something to behold. If you haven't as of yet, send them an email thanking them for their support in not only saving the Second Amendment, but more importantly the Constitution. Because, that is really what was at issue.
