Unbelievable! just Unbelievable "rlol"

Kythas, If you think there are issues now when she is 25; wait until she's 40 and you're 54. You ain't seen nothing yet.

Otherwise, there have been some very interesting viewpoints and perhaps food for a thesis of some sort in this discussion. :clapping:

In the meantime, support your local sherriff and your RKBA! :patriot:

Ok being a woman and having a "wife" too I might be able to help you here. For one you'll need to see where she's coming from find out if her parents had guns, did they treat her like a little girl and never talk to her about them or let her know how to properly deal with a gun. A lot and I mean TONS of women are not tought jack about guns those are things for men or their brothers but not them. So then they grow up with crazy thoughts in their heads much like what your woman has said. My lady up till this past year was very anit-gun. In her family all the men hunted but the women never saw, touched, much less shot those guns so she was fearful of them and thought that only police should have them. Now ... we watched a show with Penn and Teller and it changed her mind just a little. She really likes them and they said something to her that night that she just got. But after several long talks I told her how much I wanted a gun for home defence and how much I wanted her to work on her issues. She has now come full circle. We have a glock 19, she shoots it. I just went to CHL class last Friday and she'll go to one soon herself. It too awhile but find out if this is fear talking, if so some good ol talking and information might help her. But don't expect it to come fast as she's 31 and just changed her mind.

I on the other hand was more well rounded as a kid but being a tom boy really helps that in the woman rehlem. When I asked about the guns my family had I wasn't treated like a "girl" I was given the info and showed what they thought was age appropriate at that time. I find the girly girls to be the ones that have the biggest issues with guns, but they are also the least likely to have ever touched one.

Update: She is no longer my girlfriend. There were other incompatibility issues. I think the fact she was 25 and I'm 39 may have something to do with them.:
Good for you!!! A very wise choice...just be careful with the next one. ;-)
