My application was recieved by DPS on Jan 10! Same day they recieved my husband's. His plastic arrived this last Thursday, my background check is STILL "under review".

AND I SWEAR THERE IS NOTHING there for them to be "reviewing"!!

Do these applications just get sorted and go sit on different folks desk? A steriotypical goverment worker must have mine! haha...sorry to any gov workers, not intended to offend just jest a little.

That month went by pretty fast. What seemed to take forever was the first online status.

30 days and I have lived in Texas less than 2 years

Woohoo! Background check completed today.

2/6 - Class
2/13 - Online application
2/16 - Fingerprinting
2/17 - Mailed in paperwork
2/22 - "Paperwork received" status
3/6 - "Background check completed" (and it's green). "Manufacturing pending."

I thought this was going to take longer because I lived out of state for the past 3.5 out of 5 years, but nope. It looks like it's as fast as everyone else here.

3/9/2010 - Online application
2/15/2011 - L1 fingerprints
2/19/2011 - Took CHL class (249/100%)
2/21/2011 - Mailed to DPS

Its been two weeks and all my status says is:

Citizenship : No documentation required

well, then you are in good company with everyone else waiting today, or who has waited before.
2 weeks is about the start after receipt by DPS before things show up online, so in another day or two it should show up, then if you have no (known to you) background issues or arrests, then in 2-3 more weeks you should have your plastic.
Of course DPS says it could take up to 60 days, so while you can vent here until 60, if you call or email them, you will probably get the standard "60 days" answer.
While you are waiting so patiently, be sure to read up on the forum and learn and learn and learn, and when you get your plastic, you know what you to do then right?... Wally walk and then learn and learn and learn more.

I took class Feb 13, fingerprints sent via FAST, and online application

Mailed packet Feb 14 via certified mail, recieved Feb 18.

Online says they are still waiting to recieve my information... Gawhlie, check that dang site 2-3 times a day!!

3.8.11 - Manufacturing

Dropped packet off on the 23rd, plastic received today. 13 day turn around . That was lightning quick!! Wally walk to follow!

I called last week. Was told all that needs to be done is pics scanned in, then sent out to be made. but online still says under review.

At least I know I'm not the only one that is clogging up their server. I actually broke down and memorized my TXDL number so I wouldn't have to keep looking it up. My info signed for by DPS on the 25th of Feb.
