Well Bozz, I got impatient and checked my status this morning. I was going to wait until the 60 day mark. But today, which marks 7 weeks, I show in manufacturing. Same with my wife. So as I previously mentioned, looks like I may have it in hand just before Thanksgiving. I won't be holding my breath, though.
Hang in there. I suspect you'll see an update prior to week end.

Received my CHL on Saturday the 16th.
SO... 48 days from uploading my documents to receiving it in the mail.

I'm sitting at 49 days right now, application status is still "received and processing"
I have been stuck on the same waiting for background review for over a week... I don't get the process

Well, at least you have a sign that they got your stuff and are working on it. You previously said you are 1 day behind me. I am still getting this after 42 days:
License Status: Application processed online. Concealed Handgun Licensing is waiting on the receipt of required materials. Once the application and materials have been received by Concealed Handgun Licensing and processing has begun, a more detailed status will appear on this page.
Sorry to hear, and yes it is somewhat ok to have an update, but again it still feels the same when you are stuck in the system and wounder what they are doing with these.

And on the 50th day, it shows Mailed. With the coming weekend, I suspect it'll arrive next Wednesday, which will bring the entire process, from submission to completion, to a close a day or two under 60 days.
When we took our class the instructor noted that folks were getting turned around in just over 2 weeks, some in 13-14 days. That set, as it turned out, to be a very unrealistic expectation. Austin became buried in new apps and a flood of renewals.
I think for now, about 60 days is a fair estimate for a typical application, providing one has no issues pop up during background. And it's a good thing, meaning that many are getting licensed. I wish everyone would.
Best wishes to all, especially with the approaching Christmas season. Be blessed and be careful out there.

I mailed my Wife and I's application off on the 1st of Oct.
Hers:
updates
Nov 18th all the way to Manufacturing
Nov 19th - Mailed
Received 22nd
Mine:
updates
Nov 21 all the way to Manufacturing Pending
Nov 22nd - Mailed
A buddy of mine sent his off on the 1st as well and it has been stuck on Background Check under review since the 14th. He called in today and they said they would clear out the background check. **update 11/26** - His is still in Background Check under review.

I e-mailed them yesterday asking to at least verify receipt of the documentation I sent on 9 Oct. No response yet, but it does make me feel better.

I still have the same waiting for documents on the screen. Maybe since the Oct 1st folks are getting theirs mine will be close around the corner. Since they sent me the email on my inquiry ,I haven't heard a thing.

Funny thing is I bought a new handgun a few weeks ago and my background check took all of 2 min.
