A Kid! she could be anywhere from 18 to 22? possibly older, but statistically not. She wasn't a middle-aged man, she wasn't going to react like one, like I said earlier, the cop knew where he was setting up, he should have been prepared.
Amanda Jo Stephen, 24, was jogging along an Austin, Texas, road with her headphones on when a police officer grabbed her.

I think she would be upset if you called her a "girl".

Would your opinion or comments change if the jogger were a male? It's okay to answer "Yes".

:iagree: A 24 year old woman acting like a 12 year old spoiled girl leads me to think that she has led a very sheltered, me-first life.

OTOH, she may have known exactly what she was doing and with the advice of Shylock, positioned the camera to record events with sound as evidence in the upcoming lawsuit. Stay tuned.

A couple of posts have suggested that she is spoiled or led a sheltered life. Isn't it possible that she is just immature?

At what age is one expected to grow up and be responsible for one's actions? Somewhere in our Bible, it is suggested that 12 is the '....age of accountability'.... I'm okay with that.

Teaching responsibility and consideration are just a couple of the duties of parents. I wonder who bailed her out and/or otherwise came to her rescue?

Say what you will but this is 100% brought on by the jay walking radicals who cross the street in places they do not belong. I truly believe it is their intention to do this as they perceive motorized vehicle operators as the enemy.

Girl jaywalking wearing ear buds and cannot hear LEOs calling out to her.

LEOs grab girl and she gets hysterical and they arrest her for what? Failure to ID?

I think the LEOs were just going to tell her to not jaywalk, girl became irate causing a scene (failing the attitude test) and she refused to ID (arrestable crime) when the LEOs were just going to write her a citation for jaywalking.

Play stupid games.....

Am I close?
very

You can see the ticket book on the ground in the pic.

APD has suspended the jaywalking task force and t.u. students again can just decide for themselves when it is safe to cross Guadalupe Street.

This looks like they were playing a game of jump in front of the bus.

It seems like the transit police everywhere are more aggressive. I worked at Renaissance tower in Dallas for awhile and jaywalking there was going to get you not only a ticket but a dose of real attitude. NJ and NY had the Port Authority police and many of those that I saw were definitely over the top.
I have had to call down DART PD for agitating a volatile situation I was running on. I told them it was my scene and their role was ONLY traffic control and if they didn't desist I'd have them arrested. Boy they were mad, but they complied. I documented names and badge numbers to; that really irked them. In my time on the engine, truck and rescue; they were often Barney Fifes that seemed perpetually mad they couldn't hack it in DPD. Some were great, but there were a lot of them (in my experience) that needed a reminder of their scope of duties from time to time.

Back when I had anything resembling a body, a couple of cops and I (I had helped train them in rope work) used to work out together. I was, and am though it's harder to tell now, big chested and these guys were pretty lean. When I'd run into one on the street in uniform, they both looked like pudges due to the hardware under their shirts.
