It was sent to the Law Enforcement Liaison for the AG's office for review. It was to let me know that my complaint was received and will go through the civil process. I'm encouraged. :txflag:

Great, so we're hopefully going to get a good sense of what might be the time-frame on these!

Found a news article about Texas Zoo's posting no gun signs at the link below:
http://www.cbsnews.com/news/zoos-gun-ri ... s-houston/

The article mentioned something about one of the Zoo's being an educational institution, so I did a google search and found the following:

Fort Worth Preschool registration page:
https://www.fortworthzoo.org/education/ ... preschool/

Fort Worth Preschool registration and waiting list page:
https://edureservations.fortworthzoo.or ... EventID=15

I could not find any certification for the Fort Worth zoo preschool. Are preschools required to be certified in Texas?

Is there a difference between a Child Care and Preschool?

I was very pleased with their day care services. I dropped my two off for the full day. The tiger enjoyed the day, the wildebeest not do much.

For the purpose of License to Carry (CHL), it doesn't matter. Preschools and child care/daycares are not off limits by statute. The exception would be if any of the above were on the premises of an actual school. But if it's on public property like the Zoo is, it is meaningless. That's why it's so laughable that they did this.

preschool would be educational, child care = babysitting

"The FW Zoo got themselves licensed in June for a child care program."

Will this most obvious ploy hold up to legal scrutiny for what it is...?

I think it will demonstrate the need for the law's passage. The zoo and their cohorts in city gov't will try to twist and contort the law to fit their own ends in a blatant display of intellectual dishonesty.

SB 273. While Sen Campbell may not have had the Ft Worth Zoo specifically in mind when she drafted the bill, the zoo's actions have certainly proven that this law does fill a glaring need.
