Didn't know I was supporting Russia

I ordered some ammunition, 12 ga rifled slugs, from an online vendor. The brand name was Fetter, of which I was unfamiliar, but decided to try. It arrived today and when I opened the outer shipping box the ammo carton had the side up and the first thing I saw was "Made In Russia". I am familiar with most of the Russian brands, but never knew about this brand.

That ammo was likely shipped into the US well prior to the invasion. Besides, unless someone researchs every company that manufacturers things, it can be difficult to know the origins of products in this era of a global economy.

Yep, ordered some "Sergeant Major" brand 9mm from Target Sports USA. Price was not bad (for current market little over $300 for case) and included free shipping for case of 1,000. When arrived, it is re-boxed Tula. Not bad for range or student use, interesting is that cases are zinc plated steel. Reminded me of the old Silver Bear Russian stuff.

Every Russian made round you fire is one less that's available to the invaders of Ukraine.
(Yes... I know it's not that simple... I was being ironical)

From what I read no new permits for importation of Russian ammunition were approved after September 6, 2021. What wasn't clear to me was if it was required get a permit each time ammo was imported and/or if it was a blanket permit to import weapons and ammunition listed on the form for the 24 month period stated on the ATF Form 6. If it's the latter than importation could continue as long as 2 years from Sept, 6 2021. I guess it pays to do some research on source countries for ammo. Even then you may be duped as to what you get as AF-Odin said.
