I was on my way home from work coming down the Bush and I notice a truck rapidly approaching behind me, at this point I already am doing 70mph, He proceeds to ride my bumper extremely close, as I exit around a long loop to hwy 78 he is still on my bumper, of course I look in the mirror and mumble a few words that would violate the 10yr old daughter rule. so he proceeds to pass me and continue to drive reckless as he passes, well of course we end up side by side at a stop light! he rolls down his window yelling at me as I continue to look forward ignoring him, this lasts the entire light! As we pull away he rolls up his window and continues to fly down the road. I thought dont even look at this idiot IGNORE HIM! All along having my pistol with me made me feel very much at ease because if this guy comes at me with a crowbar or something he is going to have a big surprise. But I must say I am glad I did not esculate the situation to the point I would have needed a lawyer and him a body bag. I drove home thinking there is some people who just dont know what they can be up against. In the end he looked like an idiot yelling at someone who did not even acknowledge he was there(although I did have the corner of my eye on him) and I saved some rounds for the range.

Sounds like you handled a frustrating situation well.

No way would I have been able to stay that calm.

Cell phone to 911 might have been a good idea. I just love to see these guys get what's coming and flashing lights in the mirror typically calm them down significantly.

Who knows what goes through these knucklehead's minds. Sounds like you were the better, more mature person. He will get his down the road, they usually do.

The idiot obviously was prone to emotional outbursts.

Someday, this characteristic will betray him. The only question is, will he end up in prison after victimizing some innocent person, or will he end up in the morgue after TRYING to victimize some innocent person?

Was this a red pickup truck by any chance?

I had a similar situation with a moron in a red pickup a few months ago (in almost the EXACT same place)

A guy in a red pickup was doing about 40 in the left lane, so I passed him. He didn't like that, so he accellerated after I moved in in front of him, tailgaiting by inches. I stomped on the accellerator to get away.

He still managed to follow me, and cought up to me at a stoplight after exiting. he jumped out of his truck, waving a tire iron at me.

I unholstered, and held at ready. When he saw my gun, he ran.

A call to Garland PD after that basically told me "Not much else we can do if he comes back, you did fine." so that seemed to be it.

Sounds ok, I would have made eye contact and kept my eyes on him and specifically his hands while at the light to make sure he wasn't getting the drop on me though.

You're the bigger man!

Ignoring them is the best thing to do. They're looking for conflict.

Was on the way to Nokia center to pick up the wife after a concert the other evening. Was on Beltline going south, two lane road that narrows to one. I was in far right lane, left hand lane merges into mine right after the light. Beside me is a late model four door windows down music playing loud. Looks to me like a skin head his girlfriend and some younger kids in the back.

We both leave the light at the same speed and reach the merge at the same time also. Apparently the skin head took offence with me being where he needed to be and braked hard to avoid hitting the concrete divider that signaled the end of his lane. He then proceeded to follow close behind me. I stayed at the same speed I was before the incident.

Finally he pulled up beside me and I looked over, gun on my lap. He was trying to give me his best stare down, menacing, I wanna kill you look. Well, it was lost on me because I thought it was funny as hell. I laughed out loud and continued to chuckle at him. His face blossomed into a sort of reddish blue tint and looked close to exploding. He then accelerated sharply and left me.

Since we are telling stories, I had a situation a few months ago on a side street where someone was flying up behind me (middle lane of 3) weaving in and out of traffic. Three cars ahead in the inside lane was a LEO in a marked car.

He moved over and started past on the inside lane, I pointed ahead to try and advise that it wasn't a smart move as there was a marked car ahead. I guess he thought I had giving him the Hawaiian Good Luck Sign, he swerved into my lane, slammed on his brakes and stopped. He got out yelling back at me. I rolled the window down, pointed ahead at the traffic stopped at the light and politely yelled back to him I was trying to warn him there was police officer ahead. He turned around and looked, got that sheepish look on his face and slunked back into his car.

I called the non-emergency number and reported the road-rage incident and his license number. They said they would send him a letter. Hope he thinks first next time before having that type of outburst. He must have felt guilty in the first place to think I was giving him the bird.

driving home one day from work, I passed a day care. As I am coming through a light, a car pulls out of the day care in front of me, right lane.
I move over into the left lane, go around Mr "All Traffic Must Stop for Me," and continue on to my domicile.

I pull into the entrance of my Apt Complex, stopping momentarily to retrieve my collection of bills, You've Won a Brazillian Dollars, and Gun Mags (I just look at the pictures...). Upon exiting my personnel transport, Mr ATMSfM pulls in behind me, erupts from his, and begins to berate me on "cutting him off, with his son in tha car." I inform him that if his first concern was the safety of his future inmate, that he should likely not pull out in front of moving traffic.
Mr ATMSfM then regalled me that my head resembled excrement, and my lineage consisted of an unnaturalized she-dog.
I simply stared, and attained a look on my face, best described as though I stepped in, well, something unpleasant.

The aforementioned breeder of stupidity at this time vacated the premisis.

I feel it necessary to expound upon a common practice at my particular Ant Colony. Domino's likes to send a driver to sit in front of the office, and he/she sells medium one toppings for $5.

This happened to be one of those particular days.
:???:

After turning away from the departing Personality Disorder, I notice Lil Miss Domino's, who had witnessed the whole exchange, staring, wide-eyed, and open mouthed at the dwindling visage of a PD egressing in the distance.

I gave her a small shrug, and gathered my collection of Bills, Kindling, and Gun Pr0n before purchasing a Medium Pepperoni (to take her mind off of things).

just another day at the office...
