OK, I bit the bullet (pun intended )and spent the extra money on a PM9 over the PF-9. Haven't been to the range yet, so can't share my experiences yet.

I want feedback from you PM9 or PM40 owners on your experiences.

I would expect them to have the bugs worked out by now.

I bought mine in Aug 2002. They refused to acknowledge there was a feeding problem early on so I worked on it some myself.

Later on, they asked for a return of the barrels so they could recontour the feed ramps.

Then later still, they had a full blown barrel recall where they replaced the barrels.

That's been a few years now and mine works ok.

Now if they will just figure out the problem with my already replaced P45!

I've have both the PM9 and P9, and they have been flawless out of the box.

Well, I'm in the "Sent it back to Kahr and they fixed it" (twice) category.

Here's my story (I use the username "Hawkes" over at GlockTalk) :

Can't talk about the PM-9, but the P-9 I got had two FTF's in the first 20 rnds, and not a problem since, and I have about 1500 rnds through it now.

I've had two. Got rid of both. Will never own another at any price. Gun was finicky. Mags were finicky. Did not feed everything - even FMJ after suitable break-in period. It was a great pocket gun with good sights and decent accuracy, but the detractors were too much for me. QC is questionable. Slide release was horrible - especially at speed. Bled a lot from thumb.

Bottom line, it dropped in my pocket and became invisible, but I could not trust my life to it.

Had a PM40. Won't own another. Sent to factory several times and still not reliable. Too bad as it was a perfect size for pocket carry.

I hope they got the QC up and failures down. Hate to see someone depend on it and it not go bang.

I bought a new PM-9 last year. After much money, time, shipping it back to Kahr to work on and send back still not working good. Lots of aggravation - Kahr gave me a full refund. I have been flamed for posting my experience on other sites - but it is all true.

I have a Glock 26 now and have bought my wife a Glock 26.
I recommend Glocks - they function and eat anything - I walk/jog about 6 miles a day in Houston - lots of sweat and rain and the Glocks function.
I wish you the best with your PM-9.
I CCW for myself and my families protection - I would recommend you get a Glock.
Thanks, gamboolman.....

I bought a PM9 in March. Took it straight home and fired some rds. Had 2 FTF in the 1st 2 mags. Cleaned it and no more problems since. About 700 rds through it.
Then I bought a PM40 last month. Cleaned it and have not had a single problem. Have about 300 through the 40.
