Shield EZ Mag Loader

We recently got a S&W Shield EZ 9mm for Dear Sweet Wife and Girl Child to try out. One of the attractive features of the EZs is the magazine with tabs on the follower. DSW has pretty limited hand strength, so I sought to make a device that would make it even easier. It's a little rough - we'll call this one, "proof of concept".
DSW tried it out and gives it two thumbs up!
Following the keep-it-simple principle - it's made of two boards hinged at the end. One board is routed to accept the mag baseplate, and the other is notched to fit the follower tabs.

You can sit it flat on a stable surface, or you can hold it in one hand and squeeze.
Each round drops in easily from the top. In practice, don't allow too much room or the cartridge may not drop in place correctly. One at a time until full!
We should get an opportunity for them both to shoot it this week, and I will report back with their thoughts on the pistol.
Enjoy!
Jeff

The UpLULA is pretty slick - and will work on a lot of different platforms. I don't think my sticks will compete!

Kudos to you. I’ve made my living these last 20 years inventing and coming up with ideas to sell. Most of them truly were “necessity is the mother of invention” things. Everything I sell on Amazon are things that I use either in my home or on my guns.
I just had the advantage of already making and selling items online and wholesale. Plus having a CNC, laser engraver and 3d printer at my disposal makes it easy to take an idea to a finished product.

I make things for a variety of reasons; convenience, economy, fun, quality, or nothing else is what I want. I'm not built to be a businessman. I've made decent money building custom furniture and cabinets for people, but even then my first response is if you can buy what you want it will be cheaper then I can make it for you.
