Here are some thoughts about anti swatting, which are also anti home invasion.

If you have a courtyard, put up a gate.
Have an extremely loud siren that is manually actuated.
Have ridiculously bright lights in the front that are for this purpose only.

I have no children living in my home so having a firearm within easy reach no matter what room I am in is an advantage. Yes, even my bathrooms. All three of them.

Don’t forget exterior cameras. Just yesterday I was telling my wife that we needed cameras in the back yard. Our pool guy was back there for 20 minutes cleaning the pool and I never even knew it until I got his email saying my service was completed. I was sitting in my home office the entire time.

I have steel security door in the front. My firearm is with me 24/7/365. My wife is considering letting me put bobwire/ razor wire on the fence. This has been a very long conservation, but I am getting closer to an agreement.

There are lots of good things you can do to harden your home. Part of it is hardening from forced entry, part is to give you warning so the badguys can't surprise you.

3 inch screws on your door hinges and deadbolt plate are a great start. Makes it tougher to take down the doors.

Harden your garage door pull so that the "coat hanger trick" doesn't work.

Pickproof locks like medeco are essential.

One or two large dogs are a great asset. Most criminals are not prepared for 2 large dogs. Failing that a "Beware of Dog" sign is a nice asset.

Having a monitor to easily see what is going on with your external cameras is very helpful.

A good start for home invasion protection. being swatted is an entirely different situation.

If a swat team is at my door, I'm going to listen to them. While I know I did not do anything, I'm not going to start a gun fight. I'll take it up with the Judge. I'm sure some heads will roll.

If my home is invaded, the alarm will go off and the signal goes to the monitoring company that will call 911. Then, they have to get past our 85Lb golden doodle. She jumps on top of anyone she does not know. If they get past her, I'm always within reach of a gun. I'll start blasting. I have layered our protection. I sleep well.

I think some people will attest that they could not tell the difference between a home invasion and a swatting.
