Is there anything I need to know that is greatly different from Texas such as signs and places that ban carry?

This has the whole list for the state. A couple of biggies:

The sign requirements are more lenient. "carrying a handgun is prohibited" is the required language, clearly readable from 10 feet. (In other words, not very big.)

If you carry into a private home you must notify the occupants that you are carrying.

Read the laws. Very little in common between states to bet your freedom on.

For example IIRC, in AR you are not allowed to carry in churches, many/most state gov buildings, etc. Quite different from TX overall.

I went to Arkansas about a month ago. Not a lot to be worried about for "normal" travelers. No carry in places of worship. No carry in government offices/buildings. "No Guns" signs are effective without specific wording. And you must get permission to carry into someones home before you enter.

In practice, I don't know anyone in Arkansas, so I never entered a private residence. I looked hard, but never saw any no guns sign of any wording. I did not enter any government offices or buildings. I did slip once by carrying into a church building, but there was virtually no one there (not for services), and it was concealed, so no one noticed anything.

The only law that could bite typical CHL'ers is that you can't carry in any place that serves alcohol, unless is it a place classified as a restaurant. No big deal, except that, in Arkansas law, a dining establishment is not classified as a restaurant unless it seats more than 50 customers. I went to a very small Italian restaurant that served alcohol, and it was almost too small to meet the restaurant classification, as it only seated 53 customers.
