WOW. Not only has the US Attorney General Pam Bondi fired the ATF Legal Counsel fired for targeting gun owners, President Trump is appointing FBI Director Kash Patel as the Acting Director of the ATF. Patel is very pro 2A!

What are your thoughts on this? Seizing guns of those Civilly Committed and then allowing the cops to determine whether to return the guns or pursue a legal ruling to keep them. They are calling it the Gun Violence Restraining Order.

I think we all knew big changes were necessary at the top of the ATF and FBI. I suspect if they release the remaining JFK files the FBI's reputation will be fully exposed for the fraud it always has been.

As I said, Pam Bondi is anti-gun, and by appointing her and listening to her, Trump is also anti-gun.

I'm hopeful there are enough pro 2A higher ups in the administration to counter her. I like most aspects of her job resume she brings but this is her weak spot, and can hurt making progress to fully restore the 2A as the founders intended. She's not nearly as bad as most. But that was one reason I wish he had picked someone else at DOJ. But Patel and Bogino, as well as other staff picks are very pro 2A.

Her anti-Constitutional views should have disqualified her as AG. Horrible, horrible choice...again in this term Trump makes a mistake in appointments.

This blew me away, it's not ATF employees doing this work, but private contractors? Begs the questions if these private contractors have access to ATF data.

Copying the text here for those without an X account:

Joey Jones posted this on X:
On the phone with @ATFHQ trying to do a permanent change of address for my NFA items. I’m being thorough and asking questions, at one point he tells me I may need to talk to a lawyer. To which I replied, “well, I pay taxes so you can have a job and answer these questions, let’s try to figure this out before I pay someone else” to which he replied “well actually I’m a private contractor.” So I replied, “who pays your contract?” Literal silence… @FBIDirectorKash @DOGE 🤷🏻‍♂️

WOW! Posted on X (Twitter) by the WhiteHouse official account, upon Dan Bongino, new Deputy Director of the FBI's post about visiting the ATF HQ:

@WhiteHouse
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED. 🇺🇸

@FBIDDBongino
Paid a visit to the ATF today. It’s a new era — one where Americans will be kept safe and their Constitutional rights will be protected.

Just throwing a prediction out there.... Trump is going to fold the ATF's responsibilities and personnel into the FBI. That's my guess. Hopefully / probably strip it of all of its powers and the bull laws on the books as well.

Its a good step, but what we really need is a NFA and Hughes overturn. That is the big one.

Acting ATF Director Kash Patel, also our current FBI Director plans to cut/move 1000 from ATF. John Lott on X (Twitter) links the article at the bottom:

FBI Director Kash Patel, who also serves as acting director of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, has outlined plans to move as many as 1,000 ATF agents to the FBI, cutting ATF’s agents by more than a third, three people briefed on the plan told CNN.

The move represents a major cutback of the ATF, an agency that long has been in the crosshairs of gun rights groups that believe its work infringes on Second Amendment rights. The ATF has about 2,600 agents and more than 5,000 employees, a number that has remained largely unchanged for years.
