Siege of Alamo: Day One
Today marks the first day of the Siege of Aamo in 1836. The battle lasted 13 days. In 1836, the battle ended on March 6. However, 1836 was a Leap Year. In 2026, 13 days from February 23 is March 7. The best way to understand the battle is to observe the days, not the dates.

1836 was a Leap Year. Day Seven was on February 29.

1836 was a Leap Year. On Day Nine of the siege, March 2 in 1836, Texas declared Independence at Washington-On-The-Brazos. The Alamo Defenders never knew.
