It's a nice thought but I doubt it will ever see even a committee vote say nothing about a floor vote. Too many" demlicans" and other spineless politicians.

And, in my view, it should never happen. I much prefer the Supreme Court striking down the State laws the infringe the 2nd Amendment to giving the Federal government any more regulation power in this area. I don't know how yet but trust that the gun grabbers will turn something positive into a gross negative as soon as they get into power again - and they will. Think that I'm wrong? Look at the results of State adherence to FOPA.

Legislative effort should go toward abolishing the NFA.

+1.

I understand the temptation to pass such legislation, but given how the commie states reacted to Bruen (and other landmark 2A decisions, not just FOPA), they’d do the same thing with this law. There are already cases wending their way through the courts that will eventually achieve the same thing, but at the constitutional level. The next course, IMHO, would be for JD Vance’s administration (it likely will never happen under Trump) to sic Harmeet Dillon for human rights violations on those individual states that continue to violate the Heller/McDonald/Bruen decisions.

As long as the commies continue to push the notion that gun control is a legislative problem, they’ll continue to use legislation to suppress the 2A. If SCOTUS can frame it as a human rights violation, and then put some teeth in their decision, commie states can be ultimately discouraged from pursuing that angle. After all, THEY’RE the ones who are supposed to protect human rights, aren’t they?

Sigh..... I'm just dismayed at how more and more governors, state and federal judges, etc. just totally blow off Supreme Court decisions.
