Another gun in a gun free zone? How can this be?

At least nobody was hurt; it appears the kid just shot into the air.

Obviously the kid had no respect for the ban on firearms on campus. I'm pretty sure he didn't have a CA CHL either, ANOTHER law he didn't respect.

When will they EVER learn?
When will they ev-er learn?

Are you quoting the hippie ballad, "Where have all the flowers gone?"
If so, I think it's awesome to quote that song in this way, because I'm sure Pete Seeger would turn in his grave for it :D

It's amazing to see how well our gun-free zones work.

Let's put up more "no gun" signs. That'll stop the problem.

Yup. That was the intended quote. FWIW, I think that Seeger is still alive. I read somewhere recently (National Review I think) that the long-time communist finally got around to criticizing the brutality of Joseph Stalin and even wrote a song about it.

Well I'll be, he is still alive. And yes, the song is Big Joe Blues, and its awesome.

My father was a hippie in the 60's and he's slowly seeing the light. My mother is hopeless though, and I completely blame both of them for my tastes in music.

As I told my dad when he found out I'm a gun owner, "I wish we could live in a world where everything was peace and flowers and love and all that, but until then, I'll hope for it, but still carry my gun." And he seemed to accept that.

Agreed!

Maybe they should put another sign below it: No dude....we REALLY mean it!

That oughta stop 'em.
