I don't really understand the striker business, but it is a pretty gun, looks real thin for CCW carry. if it proves as reliable as the P series I'm sure they got a winner.

Things I wonder about, though.

Isn't 6.5 lb pull kinda heavy?
this is double action with a safety,

Safety seems kinda small, might be hard to find when your in a hurry.

Think the SR45 will be the biggest hit. Thin lines and Ruger ruggedness are going to be a nice alternative for those who want something other than a 1911. Will it be as safe as a 1911?

Doubtful. MSRP of the SR9 is $525, versus $599 for a Glock 17 or 19.

Checked with Gander Mountain, $600.

Maybe $350, I would hope that No-one spends that much for one, even if they have money to burn

Saw them at the Mesquite Gun Show yesterday anywhere from $499 - $599.

Any time there's a new release with a perceived high demand, sellers are going to set the price as high as they think they can get away with.

How soon before it morphs into a .357 SIG?

Ambidextrous safety. Sounds good, but just how cocked and locked is it?

Gander mountain is outrageous when it comes to firearms prices.....Does anybody know why they are so expensive?

Probably because they can find someone to pay. Not everyone is willing to shop or do the gun show thing.
