Open carry/private property question

Background: My wife and I are selling our home of 26 years in the small town we now live in and are moving to Abilene later this month. Since I want time to get to know the city better before I purchase a home, we have found a great house in a nice neighborhood to lease for a few years while we learn more about Abilene and make up our minds about what area we want to spend the rest of our lives in.

Question: If I am leasing a house and surrounding yard, as opposed to actually owning it, am I still legal to open carry on that property ? I rarely open cary for any reason anywhere, but just wondering if someone were to drive by and see me when I might be in the garage with the door open, etc ?

Thanks.

Good luck with the move.
