High profile CHLs?

Didn't want to steal the Miranda Lambert thread, so I thought I'd start a new one to see if anyone knows of any famous or well known CHL holders; Texas or otherwise. I know Mike Huckabee (R) and Bill Richardson (D), two current presidential candidates, have openly stated that they have permits to carry. I know of two very high ranking state officials who have CHLs, but neither carry daily; One because he has security and the other because he spends most of his weekdays inside a government building.

I bet more in-the-spotlight types have CHLs than we would expect.

Jerry Patterson. Ted Nugent. Jim Webb. Oh, and while not technically a CHL holder, Eleanor Roosevelt famously packed a hogleg while traveling without bodyguards:

Should it matter?

Just because they are famous their CHL can get pulled and slathered all over the interwebz

I guess it shouldn't, but does it harm someone to talk about it on here? Unless it is private (like mine were) there's no reason to pretend like they don't have CHLs.

From Wikipedia... the world's favorite illegitimate website:

In New York City, a concealed weapons permit is theoretically possible to get but in reality it takes a large degree of money, political influence, and/or celebrity to get one. Examples of current and past New York City permit holders would be Senator Charles Schumer, Robert DeNiro, Don Imus, Howard Stern, Ronald Lauder, Edgar Bronfman Sr., Donald Trump, William F. Buckley Jr., Harvey Keitel, Joan Rivers, Arthur Sulzberger, and Bill Cosby.

IMHO, when someone is in a position to make law or influence public policy, their personal behavior is open to scrutiny.

That's particularly true when their public and private behavior are in conflict, like the many politicians who are in favor of "gun control" for the little guy, but exceptions for people like them.

Or when they scream about "family values" and vote against gay things every chance they get, then get caught being gay.

Major party politicians (R and D) dont necessarily agree with their political positions they just say them to the public to gain popular support, much like talk radio personalities.
