I took my CHL class two months ago, but did not have the $$ to complete the application process. I thought that there was a deadline, but I do not recall what it is. Can anyone help?

You're fine. I think the TR-100 expires at 6 months, but some of the CHL Instructors on the forum will jump in and give some help.

There was some confusion (generated by DPS newsletter) about that a year or three ago, but I believe what El Gato said is current policy.

I waited a year before I sent mine in and I called DPS with that same question. They told me that it's good for 2 years before you have to retake the class. So I sent mine in and now I'm a license holder. :)

It was almost 2 years before mine got mailed. I was also worried. When I called DPS they told me it was good for 2 years. I didn't believe it so I called a second time and taked to a different person. The 2 year time frame was confirmed. Tom is correct.
