Sorry to laugh, it is sad how little many americans think outside of our own border. Your home country is next on my list of places to visit next year. I'd really like to check out the bagpipe festival. We have a high school here in town that often wins the international challenge over there.

They ought to move the NICS to offshore in India or wherever. It is getting so that you get more of the same type of response as these "offshore" call centers!

Get a CHL and make NICS go away.

I think it's kauboy who says that dealers still run NICS checks on him.

Does kauboy have a Texas CHL?
If dealers are still running NICS checks on him, then he needs to find other places to spend his money!

I'm pretty sure he does. My memory isn't perfect, though.
Dealers do things that are not required to "play it safe." One made me fill out a 4473 for the revolver that I had him ship to the manufacturer for repair.
I can't say I blame them for being cautious.

I do very little "Brick & Mortar" shopping........but I have made it a point that when I do I expect to be able to exercise all my "rights".
That means if I am looking at a gun and decide that I am willing to buy it, I immediately get out my DL and CHL. When I am handed the required form to fill out I ask if there is going to be a call placed as well......
If the answer is YES, I simply say that I will be shopping elsewhere and leave. I do not bother to tell them why......they should be able to figure it out themselves.

If they have reason to believe their is something wrong with the credentials offered to bypass NICS, then the correct solution is to NOT transfer the weapon, not do a NICS and "hope for the best". Doing a NICS when the person presents a valid CHL tells me (the juror), the Dealer knew something was wrong and was just looking for deniability.

Assuming you were all legal in the first place, I wouldn't mention this while straightening out your situation. Next thing you know, ICE
AND the ATF will be knocking at your door about your "illegal" acquisition. Remember, this is the government. You screw up, you get charged. They screw up -- they get a shoulder-shrug. They screw up the paperwork and make it look like you screwed up - you still get the charge, and they still get a shoulder-shrug.
Good luck.

Even with the CHL, he would still have to prove 90 days residencyin Tx with utility bills or some other approved documents.

I think it's "Stupid" that gets the NICS check on him all the time.
It's cause he's Asian, I believe. has a CHL and everything.
I remember he talked about a story of buying a gun, and having to wait about a week to pick it up.

Where did you get the idea that I was Asian, if that has anything to do with it?
Yes, it's me. I got NICSed when I buy from gun shop, not from the show though. I think it must be my astounding stupidity that gets me NICSed even though I have a CHL and carry a gun right at the moment I want to buy another one.
NICS delayed my purchase because they already OKed me to possess an high powered Assault Rifle a few month ago. I guess they figured that with my stupidity, I could only handle like ... 7 guns.

One more reason to become citizen. Get CHL. Some clean headed dealer won't call in.
It sucks trying to stay legal while illegals can just do whatever they want and get free rider.
