NCAA BOWL GAME / TTU Vehicle Question

My roommate works for the Big 12 and Texas Tech Football/Athletics. Tech has unofficial invites for the Cotton Bowl and Holiday Bowl. It just depends if Texas wins or lose against the cult...I mean Aggies. LOL....I am kidding!!!

Anyway, Tech has a couple trucks that they need driven to either bowl game. We have been given all access passes, hotel, expenses paid, ect. if we drive the trucks.

My question is - and we are both CHLs - can we carry in vehicles owned and paid for by a university?

I already know carrying in the game is off limits - but if we get the Cotton Bowl, I live in the Grapevine area so the gun will be safely stored at home during the game. If Tech gets the Holiday Bowl - no idea what I will do with it. The vehicle will be on stadium grounds right near the Tech gate with security so I may just leave it locked up in the truck. I will be the only person with keys to the truck.

But I guess step 1 is getting the answer to:

Can we carry in vehicles owned and paid for by a university?

Thanks!!

I think so.
... a passenger transportation vehicle of a school or educational institution,...
A truck is not a passenger vehicle.

So I guess as long as I'm not driving the band to the game in the van.....I am all good!

Sweet! Thanks for the reply!!

Your friend may be precluded because of an employment agreement though.

I would point out that you might want to think about where you will leave the firearms while you are at the game. You cannot carry there. Where will the trucks be during the game and is it safe?
