If anyone has been to one of these shows, I would appreciate it if you would let me know what you thought of it. Thanks

only gun shows worth really going to is the "high caliber show"
they are the only ones that have the big vendors come in
the others just have only ajcsportshop and local small personal sellers

I was really dissapointed with the HGCA show a month or so ago. What a waste of time and money.

I can tell you that I wouldn't drive from the hill country to Austin just to go to the Saxet gun show. Each time I have been recently there were basically two, maybe three vendors there that had much of a selection of new pistols. If you are looking for a good hunting rifle - good luck with that. When I was young and went to gun shows with my dad I remember it being mostly hunting rifles, shot guns and pistols. Now days it seems like it is mostly pistols and assault weapons. I have nothing against assault weapons but it would sure be nice to see more hunting related items at gun shows.

I really miss the Saxet show that used to be held every month in Spring. A trip to the gun show followed by a fine meal at the Potato Patch made for a good day.
I went to the Saxet show held in the San Antonio airport convention center a couple of times and thought it respectable. Of course, they lost that venue earlier this year.
The only Saxet show now within easy driving distance for me is the Conroe show, usually held three times a year. I enjoy going because it has different dealers than I normally see in Houston shows.
But there are small promoters whose shows I will attend if I get the opportunity. BoDon (Bob and Donna) has held two shows in Port Arthur. The first one was fairly good. You don't see new gun dealers, except for AJC, but you see a lot of individuals' guns. The second show was missing many of the dealers that had been at the first show, but I will still try to attend if they put on another one.
Gulf Coast will be holding some shows in Victoria. I drove to Victoria once to attend an R&K show and it had maybe 20 tables, so I'll have to think twice (or three times considering the cost of diesel) before driving that far again.
I enjoy all gun shows and don't understand why anyone wouldn't go to a gun show. Don't find anything? So what?

As much as anything, I go for the individual tables where guys are thinning their personal herd, or selling of parts.
I rarely go to buy a new gun, as I usually buy those from someone with a storefront and regular hours.

I really like doing business with Tomball Pawn.
I can't verify this, but it would appear that they just charge cost +$25 on new firearms. They are helpful and willing to order, if needed.
Typically, this amounts to gun show pricing without admission and parking.
Also, about 1/4 mile from Goodson's Cafe serving fantastic homestyle meals.

I have heard MANY MANY good things about TOmball Pawn.
Unfortunately I have not had the pleasure to do any business with these folks.
I wonder why they dont show up as vendors at major gun shows?
