While I am waiting on DPS to finish my application, I decided that i should go ahead and get a carry gun. My CZ-75 is just a little too big to carry/conceal. I looked at the Kel-Tec's, and despite the positive feedback I have heard, they look a little to..."cheap/toyish" for me. I also checked out the Bersa Thunder, in .380. And to be honest this is what I was going to get. But after reading a post and talking with the salesman at the gun store about feed problems with hollow points, I turned it down too. In the end I bought a Taurus Millenium PT111 in 9MM. Tan. I had to put it on layaway since I was short 57.00. but I will have it by the time my plastic arrives.

For those that carry one, what holster do you use and does anybody carry one in an ankle holster.

I have a Taurus pt145. Very similar in size and etc. I use a leather Bianchi IWB holster strong side slightly off center of hip.

Look at Bersa for a nice CCW. I have a CZ-52, know what you mean on trying to conceal those bad boys.

The Bersa was my first choice, But hearingabout the feed problems with hollow points made me a little nervous.

I carry a Millenium Pro PT140, which I think is about the same frame size. I have two inexpensive Don Hume holsters, one IWB and one an OWB with a cant and retention tab. I have found the OWB to be a bit more comfy, mainly because of the forward cant. Both of these holsters are marked for the XD compact, but they fit perfectly.

My Bresa Thunder 380 has been a very good little pistol, after a few hundred rounds break in period. It will eat anything I feed it since breaking it in. I used it to get my CHL. But, I don't really like shooting the 380 anymore and it now sits in my desk drawer most of the time. I seldom even take it to the range. 380 ammo is a lot more expensive than 9mm and just doesn't have the stopping power of the higher calibers.
I'm actually thinking of selling it and my Sigma SW9VE, which has never had any kind of failure, and apply whatever I get from them to a 1911 or a S & W, 45 caliber MP. The thought of sellling any of my guns is a little disturbing but I just can't justify keeping some of them and I really do want something new.

Depending on what your budget is, you may want to read about and consider buying this one. I bought one last year and I am VERY happy with it. I had them remove the firing pin block.

What feed problems? You sure that this salesman wasn't working on commission?

Well, I had read on this forum that the Bersa sometimes has a problem feeding hollow points. The Salesman also mentioned it and in fact never directed me to the taurus. He mentioned that I should just make sure it will feed the ammo that I plan to use and that several of his customers were happy with it. I had an Astra Constable back in the 80's. very similar gun and never had a problem with it feeding hp's. The comment plus the fact that I liked the look and feel of the Taurus all weighed in. The only thing I don't like is that it is probably too big ofr an ankle holster, where as the Bersa would have fit nicely. I am not Bersa Bashing by any means.

It sounds like you made the right choice for you. Plus the 9mm is a more powerful round.
