So, if you go to a customer site where you have to sign in at the front desk and they have something that says "no weapons allowed" but they do not have a 30.06 sign posted can you legally carry there? The page that you sign to get in is where the "no weapons" statement is.

Legally, I do not think it is effective notice via 30.06. So if caught, I doubt it would be criminal trespass. If caught and they ask you to leave and you refuse, then it would be criminal trespass. I guess the real question left is as a contractor, can they terminate your contract as a result of violating policy?

If it's printed and not spoken, it must use the exact 30.06 language to be legally binding.

+1 effective notice is a wonderful thing sometimes... their intentions may be known, but unless they follow the letter of the law you're golden...

I believe this is correct as far as criminal charges go, but ...
If there is written notice it could be cause for breaking a contract if one is caught carrying. It's happened.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't carrying at the time so it wasn't an issue. The place was actually a customer of the business I work for and I was doing s site visit. It was the first time I had noticed something like this so I was just curious as to what the law was on something like this.
