CHL Law according to rap music

So I heard this rap song aptly named "9mm" on the radio that has the following chorus:
i got a 9 mm
ready to go off any minute so you feel it
because of a law i had to conceal it
but if you mess around you gon make me reveal it
So he has enough "respect" or what ever for the law he's not walking around open carrying the weapon he'll shoot you with if you "mess around". The absurdity makes me laugh. The artist, David Banner is from Mississippi ... they must have some weird laws over there.

What ever happened to rap? I can remember when I was growing up, we had bands like The Fat Boys, Run DMC, and Will Smith that I thought were "edgy" but weren't all about blowing people away. Will Smith for instance rapped about "borrowing" his parents car, getting busted, and getting grounded/punished/arrested for it.
Not these days.

When reporters talk about the "gun culture" in America, that is what I think of, not the guys with CHL's, the MallNinjas, Squeals, and Gampy out with his kid. Whenever I hear them talk about "getting guns off the streets," these "musicians" are the ones I think to which it pertains.
course, we all get lumped together in the end....
(nicely done on the PC Codes, those were funny)

no offense to anyone else but i think its all a matter of interpetation.
to me, he's basically saying he carries a 9mm and has to conceal it (im sure a handful of you guys would open carry if it was allowed). but if you mess with him, he'll use it. "mess" could mean a LOT of things and there is never an exact definition for slang words or euphamisms.
rap falls under entertainment, david banner's general demographic speaks the same way he raps, for all we know he could just be selling records.
*flame suit on*

Part of a verse to help your interpreation
if i got 9 slugs, 9 bullets gon fly
if i got a red beam, 9 people gon die
9 momas gon cry, 9 spirits in the sky
9 preachers preachin, 9 sermons tellin 9 lives
cause each and everyone of yall, 9 [people] wasnt [censored]
You can find all the lyrics easily enough but it would have been a bit of work to clean it up to post here

Well, no offense to you either, but I looked up the lyrics...there aren't enough euphemisms there!! He gets really explicit in a couple of places!
