Dad & I went to the gun show at the Reliant on Saturday. We saw an uzi handgun. I didn't know such a thing existed.

Since it's technically a handgun, could it be carried under the CHL?

(No, I didn't buy it. I'm just curious.)

Yes. It is a handgun and can be carried if you have the proper CHL.

Mental question as I think of it: Did anyone ever get a revolver only CHL?

One of the people in our renewal class had a revolver only.

In my last renewal class there were a couple of elderly ladies that simply did not have the hand strength to reload the magazines. The instructor worked with them and moved them to a revolver only.

And on the same note, if you qualify with full auto, is it considered 'NSA'?

I could see renting a Glock 18 for the test "rlol"

I have seen 2 that were revolver only. Both at a class.
As Commander said, an aged lady & the other one was a upper middle age man that had never shot a SA & was not at all interested. Carried a 4" S&W 66. Dont remember the holster by brand but is was a quality rig & he concealed it very well under his light jacket w/ a long tail. Dont know how he did it in summer but,
all who know me at all figure I would start w/ a light weight starched VEST. :tiphat:

When I took my class, our instructor said that he didn't qualify people with revolvers. If you didn't have a semi-auto, he would lend you one.
I don't know if he ever had someone flat out refuse to qualify with a SA.

I had a guy in my class that showed up with a revolver for the test becuse he didn't know better, and he used to carry a revolver as a park ranger somwhere. The instructor gave him a SA to qualify with.

You laugh, but in the dark days of Gov. Richards, when it was easier to carry a concealed handgun legally in NYC than in Texas, a friend and I considered the possibility of carrying a concealed Title II firearm for self defense. We were concerned that a DA might be able to make the case that a Glock 18 or Beretta 93 was a handgun under Texas law (although not so under Federal law) and thought an AOW would be a safer choice.
